A stunning gold and white palette, glowing candlelight, shimmering accents, and the timeless grandeur of one of Kansas City’s most iconic historic hotels came together for a wedding day that was as glamorous and grand as they come. Every single detail was thoughtfully curated and the result was nothing short of breathtaking.
From the moment you walked into The President Hotel on their wedding day, you felt it. This was a couple who knew exactly what they wanted and executed their vision with impeccable taste. The President Hotel Kansas City is one of the most iconic and stunning wedding venues in the entire metro, and it has been hosting beautiful celebrations since 1926. This magnificent Art Deco landmark combines historic grandeur with modern luxury in a way that feels both timeless and completely alive. From the moment you step into the lobby, the level of architectural detail and elegance in this building is genuinely jaw dropping.
For a black tie wedding with a gold and white palette, there is truly no more perfect backdrop in all of Kansas City. The grand ballroom spaces, soaring ceilings, and breathtaking chandeliers at The President Hotel create a natural warmth and glamour that requires very little additional decoration because the venue itself is already extraordinary. Every portrait opportunity inside this building feels cinematic and grand, and the exterior architecture delivers some of the most stunning wedding photos in the city. Your wedding day vision and your venue choice work hand in hand to shape everything your photos look and feel like, and my guide on How Much Wedding Photography Coverage Do You Really Need? is a helpful resource as you think through your day.
Deina and Mitchell’s wedding day began with a beautifully calm and intentional morning, setting a tone of elegance and excitement that carried all the way through to the last dance of the night. The getting ready moments were stunning, with hair by Hair by Ezoza and makeup by Reemzzyy creating a bridal look that was absolutely flawless and completely befitting of a black tie celebration of this caliber. Deina wore a breathtaking gown from Bridal Extraordinaire by designer Justina Alexander that was everything a grand ballroom wedding dress should be, and Mitchell was impeccably dressed head to toe by Slabotsky’s Mens with gorgeous jewelry from Meierotto completing the look beautifully.
Deina and Mitchell chose to share a first look before the ceremony, and inside The President Hotel it was an absolutely magical moment. The architectural backdrop, the warm light, and the intimacy of that quiet moment between two people who were about to get married in front of everyone they love made for some of my favorite images of the entire day. Starting your wedding morning with intention and giving yourself enough time to soak in those early moments makes such a difference, and my guide on Wedding Morning Tips for Stress Free and Beautiful Photos is full of practical advice to help you do exactly that.
The ceremony was grand, emotional, and deeply personal. One of the most spectacular and memorable moments of the day was the Dabke Troupe performance by AOF Dabke, a traditional Middle Eastern folk dance that had the entire room on their feet and absolutely electrified. It was a stunning and joyful cultural celebration that gave the day a layer of meaning and festivity that was completely unique and utterly unforgettable.
The reception was everything a black tie ballroom wedding should be and more. Tables adorned with gold rimmed dinnerware, soft ivory florals by Good Earth Floral, and glowing candlelit centerpieces created an atmosphere that felt simultaneously warm and impossibly glamorous. The chandeliers cast the most beautiful light across the gold accents throughout the room, and the overall effect was breathtaking from every angle. DJ Crystal Pro KC kept the energy perfectly calibrated all night long, and a stunning cake by Chef Shop Stark provided a sweet and beautifully styled ending to an extraordinary evening.
