This editorial shoot was inspired by the easy elegance of East Coast summer living. It was brought to life in the heart of Kansas City, showcasing how a Midwest luxury wedding can capture sophisticated style. Designed by Erica Jordan Weddings and hosted at The Lincoln Event Space, Hamptons in the Heartland was the perfect blend of refined, fresh, and coastal-influenced styling. Every detail felt light, thoughtful, and effortless. This Midwest luxury wedding showed us that elegance has no boundaries.
Let’s start with the vision…
From the start, we had a clear vision. We set out to create an elevated summer celebration that felt organic and natural without leaning rustic. We chose a soft, neutral palette of creamy white, pale blue, and muted green to set the tone. Textures played a central role: linen napkins, scalloped menus, and organic floral arrangements added depth and detail. We layered each element with intention, crafting a look that felt perfectly suited for a luxury wedding in the Midwest.
About the florals…
Laura Mohamadi designed florals that felt airy, sculptural, and full of movement. She used lisianthus, white ranunculus, stock, and larkspur to create arrangements that balanced editorial style with romantic softness. Her ceremony installation framed the clean white brick walls with graceful shape and intentional flow. The design echoed the bride’s look and captured the relaxed coastal feel we envisioned, bringing the essence of a Midwest luxury wedding to life.
Speaking of style, the fashion Erica used is timeless with just the right amount of trend. The bride is featured wearing a structured gown with a beautiful neckline and a flowing train. The dress is complemented by pearl drop earrings and classic Jimmy Choo heels. The groom’s light-toned suit brings in a sophisticated contrast without feeling too formal, perfect for a Midwest luxury wedding. Hair and makeup by Beautify BFL kept things soft and polished. A low bun and natural skin allows the emotion and connection between our models to shine.
One of the most charming elements of the shoot is the thoughtfully styled coffee bar. The coffee bar features artisan brews by Fika Coffee and a custom rental setup from Le Luci. The sleek, neutral-toned bar pairs perfectly with the overall aesthetic. Moreover, the scent of freshly brewed espresso added a cozy, elevated touch to the space. It felt like a natural gathering point. It is designed to encourage connection and slow moments between the beauty of the ceremony and the celebration to follow. This detail brought warmth and hospitality into the editorial, creating a full sensory experience.
The tablescape was one of my favorite elements to photograph. Social Shop KC curated the place settings, layered with BBJ La Tavola linens, creamy plates, delicate glassware, and minimal flatware. These allowed the florals and paper goods to stand out. Yellow Brick Graphics brought in a custom monogram, signage, and stationery suite that tied the full brand vision together beautifully. Each touch felt considered, without ever feeling forced.
