When I get to gather some of the most talented wedding vendors in Kansas City into one room with a shared vision, the result is something truly special. This spring garden editorial at The Juliet Kansas City was exactly that. Opulent pastels, lush whimsical florals, creamy neutrals, and just the right touch of dreamy lighting came together to create a celebration of everything a romantic spring wedding in Kansas City can be. Every single detail in this shoot was intentional, elevated, and absolutely beautiful from start to finish.
I dreamed up this editorial with the goal of inspiring real couples who are planning their own weddings, and I partnered with the incredibly talented Laura Clark from At Ease Events to bring the vision to life. If The Juliet is on your radar as a potential venue, my complete guide to 50+ Best Kansas City Wedding Venues is a wonderful resource to help you explore everything Kansas City has to offer as you narrow down your search.
The Juliet Kansas City is one of the most stunning and intimate wedding venues in the entire metro, and it was the absolute perfect canvas for this editorial vision. As Kansas City’s premier luxury micro wedding venue, The Juliet offers a level of intimacy and refinement that is really hard to find anywhere else. The architecture is gorgeous, the interiors are beautifully appointed, and the historic window sills throughout the space add a layer of organic character that makes every floral and decor moment feel even more special.
From a photography standpoint The Juliet is an absolute dream to work in. The light moves through this space in the most beautiful way, and the combination of contemporary monochromatic backdrops with rich architectural details gives every image a polished and editorial quality that I genuinely love. Whether you are planning an intimate micro wedding or a styled celebration with all of your closest people, The Juliet Kansas City is a venue that delivers in every possible way.
The heart of this editorial was florals, and for that there was truly only one person for the job. Ferrell Richardson of The Cottage Rose is known throughout the Kansas City wedding community for her organic shapes and breathtaking whimsical arrangements, and she absolutely outdid herself here. Acrylic pedestals from Supply Event Rentals allowed every abundant color and delicate bloom to shine and catch the light in the most magical way, creating floral moments that felt alive and full of movement throughout the entire space.
The reception tablescape was crafted beautifully by sister team Rachel Konrade and Emily Seuell from The Opal Collective. Linens, plates, and gorgeous ghost chairs from Supply Event Rentals paired with antique gold flatware from Good Stuff China created a romantic and intimate dinner party atmosphere that felt deeply luxurious. Pastel taper candles and mismatched brass candlestick holders added warmth and a perfectly imperfect elegance to every table moment.
Our bride wore an ethereal off the shoulder Jenny Yoo gown provided by Emily Hart Bridal Shop, one of those dresses that moves so beautifully it practically photographs itself. Her bridesmaids were styled in complementary floral gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, and the entire bridal beauty look was brought together by the talented team at Hello Lovely KC. Earrings from Anne Marie Designs, featured at New York Fashion Week, added the most perfect finishing touch. The groom wore a complete look from Tip Top Tux including the most perfectly on theme blush pink velvet jacket that felt made for this spring vision.
Specialty drinks named “Kiss from a Rose” and “Pink Champagne Mocktail” by Erin Cook Personal Bartending gave the shoot a fun and festive toast moment, while custom frosted acrylic signage from BB Lettering added a modern contrast against the antique china and serving platters. Floral macaroons and gold dusted cookies from Orange Goat Sweets brought the dessert table to a whole new level of beautiful.
One of my favorite parts of any editorial like this is the detail and flat lay work, and this shoot gave me so much to work with.
